This policy explains what [COMPANY NAME] ("PressLore", "we") collects when you visit presslore.com, buy a licence or use the PressLore plugin, and what we do with it. It does not cover your own website visitors: you are responsible for your own privacy policy, and the section on the plugin tells you what to include.
Who we are
The controller of your data is [COMPANY NAME], [COMPANY ADDRESS]. You can reach us at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
What we collect on presslore.com
- Orders and accounts: name, email address, billing address, phone number if you give one, the plan you bought, and your order history. Payment details are handled by [PAYMENT PROVIDER] and never reach our servers.
- Licences: your licence key, plan, expiry date and the host names of the sites you activate it on.
- Support messages: what you write to us.
- Website logs and security: IP address, browser and page requested, kept for [LOG RETENTION] to keep the site safe.
- Cookies: WooCommerce sets cookies to keep your cart and sign-in working. We do not use advertising cookies. [ADD ANALYTICS COOKIES IF YOU USE ANALYTICS]
What the PressLore plugin sends us
When a site owner uses the plugin, it contacts our licence service. It sends the licence key, the site address, the plugin, WordPress and PHP versions and the site language. When a visitor asks the chat a question, the plugin also sends:
- the visitor’s message, after email addresses, phone numbers and typed names have been replaced with placeholders;
- short passages from the site’s own pages that match the question;
- the earlier messages of the same chat, with the same replacements.
It does not send visitor IP addresses, account details, order history or addresses. We count answers per licence so we can apply plan limits. We do not keep the text of questions or answers on our servers after the answer is returned. [CONFIRM THIS MATCHES THE LIVE SERVER BEFORE LAUNCH]
AI providers
To write answers, we pass the message and the site passages described above to an AI provider: [AI PROVIDER NAME AND COUNTRY]. The provider processes them to return an answer. [STATE WHETHER THE PROVIDER MAY USE DATA TO TRAIN MODELS; YOUR PRODUCTION ACCOUNT SHOULD DISABLE THIS.]
Why we use your data
- To sell and deliver the plugin and licence (contract).
- To run the chat service and apply plan limits (contract).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
- To meet tax and accounting rules (legal obligation).
- To send service emails, such as your licence key and trial reminders (contract). We send marketing email only if you ask for it.
Who we share it with
Only the processors we need: our hosting provider [HOSTING PROVIDER], our payment provider [PAYMENT PROVIDER], our email delivery provider [EMAIL PROVIDER], and the AI provider above. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Some providers are outside your country. Where the law requires it, we use approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. [CONFIRM PER PROVIDER]
How long we keep it
Order and tax records: [RETENTION PERIOD, FOR EXAMPLE 7 YEARS]. Licence records: while your licence is active and for [PERIOD] after it ends. Support messages: [PERIOD]. Server logs: [LOG RETENTION].
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to some uses, or withdraw consent. Write to [SUPPORT EMAIL]. You can also complain to your data protection authority. [ADD AUTHORITY FOR YOUR COUNTRY]
If you use the plugin on your own site
You are the controller of your visitors’ data and we act as your processor for the chat. Tell your visitors that a chat assistant is used, that messages are processed by an AI provider, and for how long you keep chats (you choose this in the plugin settings). The plugin adds a conversation export and erase tool to the WordPress privacy tools. We can provide a data processing agreement on request.
Children
Our service is for businesses and is not aimed at children under [AGE].
Security
Licence keys are stored encrypted and hashed. Connections use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will tell you as the law requires.
Changes
We will post changes here and, for material changes, email licence holders. The date at the top shows the latest version.
